eSmart Resources

eSmart’s research team is constantly striving to develop new and relevant, evidence-based resources that will support your school.  We are pleased to announce three new resources on Student Voice and how students may create resources that focus on cyber safety and the smart use of technology.

We also have a new resource from our new Media Literacy Lab program for secondary schools titled 'How are you teaching students about the changing news media landscape in Australia?'.

eSmart resource: Student-led resources about being smart, safe and responsible online and offline.

This article has a focus on the importance of 'student voice' for online safety and how students can plan and share resources they have created.

eSmart resource: Student-led resources – consultations

This article focuses on student-led consultation to gain data that can inform the creation of future cyber safety resources.

eSmart resource: Student-led multimedia resources

This article has a focus on students creating multimedia resources as a means for them to encourage and model smart, safe and responsible behaviours online and in their school community.

All three Student Voice pieces have been specifically designed to support you with Domain 5, Target 5.4 and 5.5.

eSmart Media Literacy Lab 'How are you teaching students about the changing news media landscape in Australia?'

Complementary to Domain 5, Media Literacy Lab is a gamified teaching and learning tool helping students safely navigate their digital world and thrive in their relationship with media. Following the well-documented #facebooknewsban and shift of reliable news content from familiar search and newsfeed locations, we’ve produced a free resource for Secondary school  teachers of Civics, HASS, English, Digital Technologies and other interested educators.

Consider using it to guide discussion with students on the recent events in relation to their digital civic participation and Australian democracy.
